Keeping in touch

I was in Auckland yesterday for work and bumped into a University friend who I hadn’t seen for ages. As we go to part ways he says “Are you and S on Facebook?”.

What’s more interesting? The fact that he asked or that I said “yep!”.

P.S. Auckland keeps growing on me. The more time I spend up there, the less I dislike it.

John, was good meeting with you in Auckland thought all you guys were brilliant. Was a huge learning experience for me so thanks! BTW, Auckland is a pretty nice place, but it’s outside of the CBD that makes it great, places like Ponsonby, Waiheke, Devonport, Howick Village, Kumeu and all the bays, beaches and wineries.

Hi Steven, likewise! I really enjoyed the meeting. Lots of work ahead :)

Re: Auckland – I guess that’s what has taken me a long time to get used to. The reason I love Welly is because everything is inside the CBD… Beaches, bays, and wineries sound very very good compared to wind, politicians, and more wind…

I really like the way the Wellington atmosphere is nice and tight around the CBD, Auckland just can’t solve that becasue of the geography and the how spread out it is. Still I think the Viaduct was a reasonable start, it needs a little something else though that might bring it together, not sure what though (I think a waterfront stadium might have done it perhaps….)
